Drop Kick Murphy
(Donner
Bube –
Falcon II)
This 2010 colt is a full brother to Dunlin,
a gelding that sold for $11,000 in 2009 (a poor year for selling
horses) as a 3-year-old.
He represents the Donnerhall/Falkland cross
that produced the junior dressage horse, Dreamcatcher, who was
later shown as Don Falco. As Don Falco, the Donnerhall/Falkland
gelding, won and placed in material classes scoring up to 8.3,
scored up to 7.8 in 1st level young horse tests and
had several successes in 2nd level young horse tests
in Europe.
Few stallions have the strength of pedigree
that Donner Bube possesses, and few have that strength while
being current in today’s competitions. He won his stallion test
in Switzerland, scored the highest in
rideability of 164 horses, and has been approved by the
Oldenberg Verband, Canadian Warmblood and Canadian Sport Horse
registries. Many of the Donner Bube offspring have won
championships and all seem to inherit his excellent paces,
intelligence and rideability.
His dam,
Falcon II, is by Falkland
(Hanoverian) and out of Lucky Factor xx, whose ancestors have
contributed to international competitors in jumping and eventing
as well as champion hunters. Falkland,
despite being of strong jumping lines, sired Faberge, the
international dressage horse ridden by Beatriz Ferrer-Salat of Spain.
He has the
conformation to be a successful in a several
disciplines, but will likely excel as an eventer.
Owner’s comment:
“He is a favourite foal among our staff due
to his character. He’s intelligent, inquisitive and playful.”
