Donner Maybelle
(Donner
Bube – Bella Coolah)
This 2003 mare is big and solid, yet easy
to ride. She represents the successful cross of Donner Bube and
Wodan that has produced several athletic, useable horses for
professionals and amateurs alike.
Her sire not only won his stallion
performance test in Europe, he is a prime example of this
century’s magical cross - Donnerhall and Pik Bube I - that has
emerged with consistency at the Olympic and World Cup level in
dressage.
Her dam,
Bella Coolah (also in this sale) earned First Premium
status in the Canadian Warmblood registry and was 2nd
in the Provincial Mare Show in
Alberta, scoring a perfect 10 for her
walk. She combines the Hanoverian sport influences from Wodan
with the sport influences of Dutch-approved Selle Francais
Calvados.
She has the
conformation to be an athlete in a number of
disciplines.
Owner’s comment:
“Maybelle has been ridden in a few
schooling shows and has schooled over both stadium and
cross-country fences. She is a very forward and bold jumper, is
an excellent mover and has great form and scope over fences.
“She is our daughter’s favourite horse in
endurance rides and has competed in and easily finished three
25-mile limited distance races so far.”
Trainer's Perspective:
Donner Maybelle – This
big mare has a good attitude.
She loves attention and is super gentle.
She is well broke and has done jumping in hunter and
jumper rings as well as over eventing fences.
Maybelle is lovely to ride and great on trail rides.
She ties well and stands great for grooming and the
farrier. Donner Maybelle was entered in early
August in a derby in which she competed in both stadium jumping
and a cross country course.
