Diagon
(Donner
Bube – Kathmorr Hexa)
This 2005 gelding has competed in endurance
rides and schooling shows, placing in the 2009 Canadian
Performance Hunter Futurity. He is a half-brother (same dam) as
Mystic Impression (by Wodan/Han) who competed successfully as a
hunter/jumper and is now a broodmare.
His sire, a successful dressage horse and
jumper, is also noted for passing on his strong work ethic to
his offspring – this is particularly obvious in Diagon.
Kathmorr Hexa’s sire, Majestic Max, has a
strong Thoroughbred sport heritage. He is related to Caoastline
(grand prix jumper), Le Fanouin (international eventer), Kaesar
(international eventer), Butterfly Flip (Olympic jumper), Stolen
Thunder (international jumper), Count The Cost (international
jumper from Australia), Baccio (international eventer), Carousel
(Oldenburg jumper), Windy City (Holsteiner jumper), Too Hot To
Handle (international jumper), Debat d’Estruval (Olympic eventer),
King’s Ride (National Hunt sire in GB and Ireland), Just A
Mission (international eventer), Musing (champion hunter and
sire of hunters), etc. And, her dam was half Arabian.
He has the
conformation
to be light on the forehand and have a smooth gait and ground
covering stride.
Photographed the day after completing a
25-mile ride.
Owner’s comment:
“He has a fantastic disposition and is easy
to catch; he volunteers for work at the corral gate. He has been
ridden by a number of riders and everyone loves him. Diagon has
competed successfully in three 25-mile limited distance
endurance races – always being a crowd favourite for his
friendliness and excellent manners. And he is admired for his
way of going. He goes readily into or through water, and is not
at all spooky on the trail. He is perfectly amenable to all
grooming and treatment protocols.”
Trainer's Perspective:
Diagon – This 5-year-old
gelding has a great attitude.
He is very gentle and loves attention from anyone.
He loves to play and is always alert.
He is well broke and super fun to ride.
He has done a couple of hunter shows and several
endurance rides.
Diagon stands great for the farrier and has great ground
manners.
