Afternoon Delight
(Donner
Bube –
Highland Fling)
This 2001 mare gained Premium status in the
Canadian Warmblood registry in part due to her excellent
movement.
With Donner Bube (Donnerhall/Pik Bube I/Grundstein
I) and Wodan (Winnetou/Luckner/Frustra II) in her immediate
lineage, she is related to an astounding number of top
performance horses in both dressage and showjumping. And her
second dam, a mare known as Salty, has consistently produced
athletes in jumping and eventing.
Afternoon Delight is a half-sibling (same
dam) to a jumper (5’ 3”) and a successful eventer (national Pony
Club level). The geldings Don Remarko and Daybreak
Dancer in this sale are also her half siblings.
Her
conformation is that of a versatile broodmare.
As a broodmare, she has been a consistent
producer, which is in keeping with the fact that she hails from
one of the strongest producing dam lines that the breeders have.
She is the dam of Rumblestiltskin
and Rü in this sale plus
Pennywise and Whitney
in Sale #2.
Afternoon Delight is in foal to the
Hanoverian First Pleasure (pictured below).

First Pleasure (2001 Hanoverian)
(For Feeling – Garnett by Graf Grannus)
Trainers Perspective:
Delight is a calm, gentle mare that was
broke in her youth. She is affectionate, easy to catch,
groom, lead, tack up and is well broke. She is also a
great broodmare.
